Line Marking Removal

Dryden Line Marking are not just experts in applying road markings, we can remove them too. We use one of two methods for road marking removal, depending on the project. We’ll inform you of the options when discussing your project, and how each option is likely to affect the surface. These methods include:

Thermic lance
The most traditional method of marking removal, the HCA thermic lance marking removal is popular due to its efficiency. As it requires high temperatures, we can only use thermic lance removal on bitumen surfaces. Our specialist equipment produces a jet of extremely hot compressed air (HCA), vaporising the line marking. Thermic lance marking removal is not the cleanest method, but it is both effective and modestly priced, making it a budget choice.

Scabbling
Scabbling is suitable for concrete or block paved surfaces. A scrabbler uses a head full of small tungsten blades to literally scrape the markings off the surface. Scabbling is a good removal solution for surfaces where thermic lance removal cannot be used. It does tend to cause some damage to the surface, making it inappropriate for certain situations.
